Is an oasis made to resemble you

One to get lost in

But reminds you how to be found

Where trees the size of buildings,

Surround

Hidden compartments gently placed in time

To a commoner,

The cottage,

With the teal roof is nearly impossible to find.

Through the forest where droplets of rain play their infinite song

Exists a foundation

Sturdy and strong.

holding Mosaics of gentle moments that have left their mark,

Infinite twinkles of warmth

guiding pathways in the dark.

A passageway here,

A passageway there

Every room breathtakingly rare.

If walls could talk they would say this

They would describe the layers that exist

A boy with virtuous scripture engraved in his being

A girl with her lips doused in flames

a spirit eternally freeing

Both of them strung by the others chord

Love has never looked this way before.

To set beams of a sacred place

The story of them must exist through time

And space.

By the fires warmth is where they sit

Allowing time to work it’s magical trick

returning them to the mere age of six.

Rain tapping on the windows,

The teal roof turned to make believe sheets

Allowing the deepest aches safely to retreat.

She says,

Sit with me under this glow,

My imaginary realms is where we shall go.

I will take you to my lands of dragons and steeds

Where you can be anything you want to be.

They giggle

They dream

They escape

Interlocked revelation of fate

He tells her one day I will make this fort real

The roof of protection will be vibrant

It will be teal

A new blue from our scariest scars

We will be away from all that has hurt us

We will live endlessly under the stars.

You won’t need your sword

And every time you enter this home you will know

I am more than what words can show.

Time moves forward and they both grow up

Living their own timelines of unfairness

The unjust.

To be the cursed ones in a world that is corrupt.

But the glow of that blaze

Exists in the fabrics of everyday

Under her doorway of heartbreak and dismay

He finds her in the aftermath of running away.

The spirits of when they were small and new

Make them forced to ask

have I ever met you?

I swear we sat by a warm glow

Building this life that we seem to already know.

Their laughter protrudes and their demons shake hands.

And destiny gives its valued commands

To build a cottage with a teal roof

Is an oasis made to resemble you

One to get lost in

But reminds you how to be found

Where trees the size of buildings,

Surround

Hidden compartments gently placed in time

And

To a commoner,

The cottage,

With the teal roof,

nearly impossible to find.
